Hi, I’m Asia.
I’m the writer, teacher, medicine maker and seeker behind One Willow Apothecaries—an online gathering place for learning, healing and connection with the living world. I’m so glad you are here.
This space is a sanctuary to help you establish a deep relationship with the earth, beginning with nurturing the wells of your own self-compassion.
I believe deeply that the world will change when we are able to remember our own goodness and open our hearts to learn how to communicate with the wider world.
You already know how to do both of these things, I’m just here to help you remember the way.
. . .
Throughout the last decade of working as a teacher, I’ve had the honor of sitting with thousands of students and I can say in all certainty that we are in a turning point in this world— there is a great stream of benevolence that bubbles forth from the center of the earth and we are learning how to drink again.
I offer this work for those who are here to step back into co-creation with the wider world, to use their gifts to help the growing and relish the profound experience of being here on earth.
I offer this work because at one point in time it saved my spirit. My own journey began after early years of chronic pain and illness, including a condition called vulvodynia and Lyme disease. The experience— which pushed me into a deep search for healing, both within and without— led me to the altar of the green world and an understanding that truly everything is meaningful. Everyone is good. Everything is medicine. So am I. And so are you.
. . .
Because I’m a bit of a school nerd, I’ve always loved to incorporate education into direct revelation. So, in 2011 I completed a formal study of herbalism with the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine. I also hold a B.A from Vassar College and a Reiki master’s degree. I’ve had the honor of studying with world renown teachers, such as dream visionary Robert Moss, psychiatrist Brian Weiss, and Chinese medicine teachers Sarah Thomas and Jeffrey Yuen of the Jade Purity Lineage. Beyond all the diplomas, however, the simple truth is that the land (and the plants, stones, and waterways it holds) has always been my greatest teacher.
I currently make my home in the Blue Ridge mountains of Western North Carolina, the ancestral lands of the Cherokee, and some of the most ancient coves on earth. This land, and all the spirits in the seen and unseen that nourish its life force, makes so much of this work possible.
Me and the mountains are so deeply happy to share with you.
If you are looking for an educational and inspirational space that relishes the silliness, the compassionate, the natural, the meaningful and the optimistic twinkle of life, you have arrived.
Welcome dear heart.
