Courting Mystery: Tulsi + The Technicolor Moonrise

November 26, 2014July 4, 2021

The medicine of my world is fed by many streams— plants, flowers, stones, spirit and dreams. The most profound healing in my life has arisen from the ocean-like concurrence of all these streams. This piece is an homage to the whirlpool that it, itself, the healing. This time last year I was officially diagnosed…

If you’ve ever been in love, you know that openi If you’ve ever been in love, you know that opening to the experience can create ripples of mysticism in your everyday reality. Suddenly things appear brighter, kinder, and more vivid. The whole of the world comes alive with possibility, and every day seems like an invitation to magic. This is just what happens when the gateway of our heart opens— we get a glimpse of the true nature of reality. We see how enchanted our Earth actually is. The Earth is our ultimate valentine. No matter how you choose to celebrate Valentine’s Day, trust that the Earth is here to show you how special you are— and remind you that you are a part of that great, trusting, and utterly beloved whole. So the next time the rain touches the top of your head like a kiss, or the sun curls around your bare legs like a kitten, know that this is the world’s way of loving you.

This February, let Earth be the lover that helps open the portal of your heart—and initiate a new era of magic, mysticism, and intimate connection in your life. Check out my course, Herbs for the Heartgate, and meet the allies and practices that will support you as you step across the threshold (link in profile).
I often have to catch myself in this thought— “if I was more spiritual, more tuned in, more intuitive etc. I wouldn’t be struggling.” As if the goal of a spiritual life is not to struggle at all. When the reality is, nothing is more potentizing for our spiritual life than struggle. The fact that you’re struggling isn’t a sign of your weakness, it’s a sign of your profound soulfulness. Your humanness. Of how fully your soul committed to this grand experiment called life. It’s a sign of how deeply you’ve embraced human journey. Which is something only the most spiritual of beings can do. Struggling doesn’t mean that you’re not spiritual. It means you signed up for a big journey…precisely because your soul knows just how wide and wild your capacity truly is.
Next week is my daughter Iona’s first birthday. Next week is my daughter Iona’s first birthday. 🎈 I knew this birthday was a big milestone for the mama, as well as the baby, I just didn’t know quite how big.

To have made it through the tremendous changes of the past year. To have had entirety of your life phase shift, like going from living in daytime to existing by moonlight. To approach the threshold of this anniversary of when you touched the otherworld and came back a different person. It’s huge.

If anything is a shamanic initiation, it’s birth.

I haven’t written about it much—as I don’t tend to share about things when I’m still in the midst. But I’ve been working on a piece for the newsletter about her birth (and the enormous spiritual lesson I learned) and I’m feeling moved to share.

If you want to receive it, you can sign up for my inner circle (aka the newsletter) through the link in my profile.

I’m taking a short break from social media next week to meet this big moment but if you’re on the newsletter list, I’ll be seeing you over there 🌹
A clip from our first Winter Intuition School gath A clip from our first Winter Intuition School gathering this past weekend... For years now I’ve used the metaphor of a suncatcher when describing what it’s like to come to Earth. Each one of us, in our widest form, is as vast as the sun. That is the truth of where we come from and where we will return to when we leave this planet. In order to come here, we send a ray of light from the bigness of who we are down to the windows of our life. That ray of light comes all the way down to this place, to that window, to touch a single suncatcher sitting in that window. That suncatcher is you, in your body and the moment we open ourselves up to our own light— to our own intuition and the truth of who we are— we naturally anchor that light, our gifts, into the world... in the form of rainbows. Your gifts are your rainbows, and all you need to do to bring them is simply be open to your light. #winterintuitionschool
Have you ever felt the sense like you were missing Have you ever felt the sense like you were missing something? That pressing feeling of needing something you cannot name? A hunger that you wake up with and isn’t satiated by anything? Sometimes the greatest hunger of all isn’t actually for more—but for quietude. Our spirits crave quietude. They crave it like creeks crave the falling snow. Like stones crave the silence of the cold. They are fed by it. Like the aquifers by snowmelt. What if what you’re craving isn’t something that exists outside of you, but something that exists in abundance within. That simple, soul-filling goodness of sitting in quietude with the light of yourself.
I’m so in love with this new group of Winter Int I’m so in love with this new group of Winter Intuition School students. Our first class this weekend left me vibrating for hours. When a group of intuitives get together and bend their focus like light into a given container, true rainbows are the result. I had a lot of favorite moments from this first class together, but one of them was definitely this definition of intuition from a student: “knowing without knowing.” I heard that and thought… that. That’s what I want more of in my life. Knowing without knowing. Trusting without having to try so hard. Following that knowing without needing to understand exactly what it means. Except that I’m willing, willing to see where that deeper knowing will take me. P.S This altar for WISE was made from local kyanite, quartz and “lake diamonds” (if anyone has read Mirrors in the Earth… these are the tiny miracles I talk about!). The card is from the Druidcraft tarot 🔥🌈🌹 #winterintuitionschool
